Animal Control Officer

Animals

It is the primary responsibility of the Animal Control Officer to ensure that canines are not running at large within Halstead city limits.  The Animal Control Officer will not be liable for feral felines.  In some cases the Animal Control Officer will assist with wild animals if they are a threat to the public.

If you have the need for an animal trap due to feral felines or other wildlife please contact the Animal Control Officer during business hours to obtain the equipment.  These will be available by loan on a first come first serve basis.

How to Report?

The Animal Control Officer is on call 24 hours a day.  During business hours, 8:00am-5:00pm, please call 316-835-2266 to report an animal control issue.  After hours please contact 9-1-1 and they will dispatch the Animal Control Officer.  When making a report please be prepared to provide your name, phone number, the location of the animal, and a brief description of the animal.
